Can't talk. Must Peggle.

|
My WoW is currently made up of Noblegarden, Argent Tournament and Peggle.

Argent Tournament is the first thing.  I do the Champion and Valiant dailies every day, I'm Champion of Darnassus and Gnomeregan so far on my druid.  I've found that the easiest way to joust is...

1. Put up full shields.
2. Engage competitor  (I actually find the Horde ones easier than the Alliance)
3. Stand behind them and get the first charge off.
4. Quickly spin around and jump to turn faster.  Hit shield break as you run back.
5. Make sure your shield is full.  Every time the NPC runs away, repeat 3-5.

I have the Teldrassil Sproutling so far, it's so cute!  I'm hoping to get all of the pets first.

I also discovered that I look like I'm having more fun if I joust as a tree.

treemount.jpg

I've also been working on Noblegarden, on and off.  I'm not going for the violet proto-drake so I'm not usually worried about holidays too much but I've always liked Noblegarden so I'm having fun getting eggs and getting the items.

I've mostly been hanging around Dolanaar, having fun with pet biscuits and noggenfogger while I camp and run around.

treedance.jpgIt makes me want to be a purple tree even more than I did before.

The other big things in my WoW life:

PEGGLE.

So addictive.

I've also been part of an interview in a small podcast that nobody's ever heard of.  ;)

Can't talk more.

Must Peggle.

RP Questions

|
Saw this over at Typhoon Andrew's blog and decided to steal it!  He got it from other people so it's only fair.  ;)  I do like RPing and my main character all have their own personalities, I just don't get to express them very often.

Read his here: Eye of the Storm

What is your name and where did it come from?

My name is Eledith.  My parents gave it to me.  I think it means something profound but i forgot what.

How old are you and what is your birthday?

I am 245 and a half!  My birthday is in the same week that we help orphans, isn't that weird?

Are you in love and with whom?

Don't tell ihim!  I have a biiiiig crush on Eilthredon, he's so cute and all heroic when he bashes nasty things with his shield and keeps them away from me.

What is your favorite mount and why?

I love my horse!  A man that I helped to heal gave him to me.  I also love my bronze drake friend, Taladormu.  We fly all over, sometimes he flies and I fly with him as a bird and sometimes I go on his back.

Do you have a preferred type of Azerothian meal and where do you get it from?

Mmmmm berries!  Berries berries berries.  i used to think ones from Darnassus were the best but then I went to Dalaran!

You know those giant mushrooms in Zangermarsh?  What is your theory on how they came to be and why they are so huge?

I think it's a natural process of evolution whereby the spores of the mushrooms retained the best genetic code and grew taller because the mists and other plants were preventing the sun and rain from getting to them.  Either that or the draenei did something!

If you saw the Lich King walking toward you, what would you do?

Hide behind Eilthredon.

Am I a healing snob?

|
With my druid being 80 now, I've been working on gearing up.  I've done Naxx (25) once now and I'm down for 10-man on Thursday.  I'm well over the minimum gear requirements, so now it's tweaking and upgrading with shiny shiny purples.

I usually enjoy PUGing.  I like meeting new people and testing my skills.  However, today I joined a PUG and I left after the first wipe.  Why?

Point 1: Get to the stone with two other people and do my usual /inspect because I'm nosy.  DK with mostly greens.  Warrior with blues, but all the gem slots empty.  Uh oh.

Point 2: I finally get around to looking at who's in the group.  Two warriors, two DKs.  Uh oh.

Point 3: DKs disagree on who tanks.  One says "Frost DK should tank" and the other (unholy)disagrees.  Frost one ends up tanking, has a bunch of abilities bound to /say macros.  Spam ensues.  Uh oh.

Point 4: Almost die on trash because I get aggro and something runs up and whacks me in the face.

Point 5: Then we wipe because I get killed in the room with all the proto drakes (we're in Utgarde Keep).  Tank had been skipping a bunch of them.  Didn't see what happened as was too busy healing everyone, not sure if it was cone breath or aggro.

Made excuses, left before getting locked to it (daily heroic).

Was I too fast to leave?  Am I getting to be a healing snob?

When I hit 80, I did a round of CoS, UP, Occulus and got some gear, along with some reputation and AH stuff.  Only then did I start doing heroics.  I got enchants and gems, although I do have my own enchanter and jewelcrafter, so I admit it's easier than for some people.  I just think that not having at least the common gems in your gear is sheer laziness, as they aren't expensive and can just be grabbed from the AH.

Nice Christmas Story :D

|
It's lovely to be able to post one of these.

It's not really a Christmas story, persay ... it could have happened at any time.  But it happened on Christmas Eve, so I'm claiming it as one, goshdarnit!

I was out questing in Scalawag Point on my druid (newly respecced to boomkin, which is a lot of fun - going back resto once I hit 80) in Howling Fjord when I saw a yellow dot on my radar.  Ore!  Getitgetitgetit!  I raced around the hill and up, to get the precioussssss.

There I saw an orc death knight fighting a trio of bears.  I jumped into boomkin and helped him finish them off, then we did the good ol' emote communication.  He took some whacks at the ore, then I did.  Nice and sharing and I rode off with a smile.  I hate when people ninja nodes off me, so I try not to do it to others (occasionally I just don't see them, but I make an effort not to do it on purpose).

Doesn't end there!

A few minutes later, I get a whisper from a very flatteringly-named lowbie and we have a short conversaton.

Niceorc.jpg

That was so nice :D

I've not put his (or her) name in here in case they don't wish to be named, but I'll be pointing them in this direction.

Thank you again!  It was a really nice gesture to go to the trouble of making a toon, and it was good to share the ore.

So that's my cheery story for the day.  Happy holidays everyone!

RP Catch-Up

|
Well, creaky old Argent Dawn is down again, so I may as well do a post that I've been meaning to do.

This is sort of a "for me" post, as I don't think many other people would be interested in it.  I want to catch up my characters' stories to Wrath.

Alyviel has continued her work with the Argent Dawn, continuing on to Northrend to join the ranks of the Argent Crusade as a scout.  She fights against the Scourge as she always has, travelling with the other members of the Agents of Stromgarde, sent to the frozen north to aid the Alliance in this troublesome time.

AlyAim.jpg

Eledith, her hair now white from the life-sapping energies that she has finally thrown off, hasEledith new look.jpg followed her sister to Northrend.  Much more experienced and worldly now, the young druid lends her aid to the Alliance in healing their wounded and fighting alongside their soldiers.  She has taken the markings of an adult, copying those of her sister to show the family ties.

Yolana, the Draenei warrior, has gone into intense training back at the Exodar.  She will not travel to Northrend to aid their new allies in this fight until she is ready.

EmeDalaran.jpg

Emelyn, the power-hungry warlock, has travelled to Dalaran to study.  With her youthful appearence, she doubts that any of her old friends will recognise her and she can take all the knowledge she desires from the Kirin Tor.

Killing the Dragon Killer

|

Last night, me and some friends joined a group in killing Gruul.  High King Maulgar went down first try, although we lost a lot of the raid.  I ended up helping to heal the main tank while the shaman was throwing lightning bolts at me.  Yay for trees!

It took us three tries for Gruul, but we got him to go splat.  The raid was far from perfect, but it was a LOT of fun and I was impressed with everyone.  Here's hoping it happens again and I get my leggings.  ;)

I'm the tree in the back.

Woohoo, 2.4!

|

Well, the patch has dropped!

I waited for the usual extra downtime, then hopped on good ol' Argent Dawn.  First thing I did was log onto Emelyn to see if I'd got enough honour for my new gloves.  I had, but what was waiting for me on my character sheet made me boggle.

Emehonour.JPG

I WISH I'd got that much in one day.  I actually got around 5k.  I hopped into AV later on with Nax before I went to bed, and the new instant honour thing is really nice.  So is the join as group feature.  Putting the Horde staring area a whole three feet further back hasn't changed a whole lot from what I could see, though.

After that I hopped on Aly and did the new daily fishing quest, which sent me to Stormwind.  Took me about 15 casts but I caught a baby crocolisk from the canals and handed it in for my reward, which was some gold, a grey, and some fishing lures.  Woot!

Then I pottered around a bit, fending off "come heal for me at Sunwell" requests until Mega got online.  We formed up a group consisting of Maxinos (warrior), Autumntail (rogue), Kertatha (mage), Raecrister (healing-type pally) and myself on Emelyn.

The new instance is fun!  We purposefully went in there without having read any strats.  Kertatha had done the first two bosses on test, so he kept quiet except for when we had some trouble.

wyrms.JPG

The room above was a lot of fun.  The first couple of pulls involved me and Kert giggling madly as we AOE'd and then died horribly.

Kael'thas was a challenge, took us about five tries to get him down.  The next-to-last try was exciting, I was the only one alive when he got to about 13%.  Between my DoTs and life siphon/life drain, I managed to get him down to 1% when I misjudged one of the arcane spheres and died, with a howl of "NOOOOOOO!".  We got him down the time after that.

Then me and Mega did some of the dailys, then gave up on them because there were just toooooo many people.  It's all pretty good fun though, and I'm looking forward to trying all the rest of the new stuff.

I did make some brilliant glass on Eledith, and got a dawnstone out of it.  It's on a cooldown though.

I'm loving the new mana regen.  Intellect now gives you extra regen, the more int you have - the more regen you get per point of spirit.  That coupled with the mana-cost reduction of regrowth ... oh man.  I was in tree form, spamming regrowth on Mega to test it, and I felt like a paladin.  I think with full raid buffs, I'll be able to spam regrowth all day without my mana going down much at all.

Raincheck?

|

So, we went back into Zul'Aman today with the guild.  We were about 30 seconds too slow on Nalorakk to get the chest, but we got him down.  Then we went to Akil'zon.  I'm sure if you've read my blog before you know my opinion on him (Froth, rant, grumble, swear).

We got him to 1% again on our first try, and we had some new people in there so we had to shake things down.  We've been told to try the "sound" method, where you turn your ambient sounds all the way up and everything else down and then run in when you hear the rain.  The Deadly Boss timers are pretty much useless except to give a vague idea of when the storm is going to happen.

Well, it went very well.  We were running in and out at the right times, we just didn't quite make it.  So we released and ran back for another try.

And it started to rain.

Hard.

In game rain.

So all any of us could hear was constant rain.  "Oh well, let's see if it goes off when we engage him."

It didn't.  We couldn't hear the storm coming in.  The timers didn't work.  We wiped.

Thankfully, the rain stopped after that and we proceeded to whoop his feathery butt for a guild first.  But it's the first time I've ever seen a boss wipe us because of the weather.

Karazhan Burnout

|

Yup, I'm saying it.  I think I'm sick of Kara.  While I do think that place is great, the bosses can be fun, the design is amazing... I'm sick of it.  I've been healing that place every week for months now.  Zzzzzz.

We did a full clear for the first time last night, took us about 5 hours with a few breaks.  By "full clear" I mean Attumen, Moroes, Maiden, Opera, Curator, Shade, Illhoof, Chess, Prince.  Nightbane still whupped us but I think we were all just tired by then.  It was a good run and a sort of catharsis for me.  I've been getting very frustrated at some of the aspects of running raids in my guild and it was something I needed.

I'm bored now, though.  I'm going to continue running Kara for a little while longer on my warrior to get her ready to tank in the 25-mans, but I think my healer is about done.  However, I've been looking at some boss fights and I think we're ready to move on.  Mags isn't really that hard, and Void Reaver looks like we'll be able to do it.

I was going over the strats with Mega last night and getting all enthusiastic about it.  It's a good sign.

I think it's something we need as a guild, too.  We have the problem where people come in, run Kara with us for a little while until they get gear and get trained up and then they move on to a guild that's already in the 25-man places to do the same thing.  It means that there's ten or so loyal people who just end up spinning their wheels in Kara because we don't have enough to move on.  We're at a stage where we have 25 people with good enough gear and skills right now (last week we had three seperate groups down Prince, and we've seen him go down a couple of times this week) so I want to strike while the iron is hot.

Character Introduction: Eledith

|

Time to introduce my second 70, and currently my character that raids the most and has the best gear.

Eledith.JPG

EledithTree.JPG

Name: Eledith Leafstalker

Age: Around 500.

Background:

Eledith is the younger sister of the huntress, Alyviel.  Born and raised while her sister was away, Ele was always told tales of her brave and daring older sibling, and often dreamed of being like her.  During the Third War, so many druids were losing their lives that Ele was taken into training as soon as she displayed an aptitude for the healing arts.  Under the watchful eye of her father, she swiftly developed her abilities.

Ele was an impulsive youngster and often found it difficult to be, as she saw it, held back by the stuffy elder druids.  Although her training was not yet complete, she left the safety of Moonglade and travelled to the Eastern Kingdoms with her sister.  It was there that the both of them joined an organisation known as the Shadow Walkers, and fought together against the Burning Legion.

Eledith joined the Cenarion Expedition against the wishes of her parents and sister, travelling to the Outland and battling against the Burning Legion.

The half-trained druid met and befriended a human warrior by the name of Maxinos.  When he appeared one day at a guild meeting with a patch over his eye, she was concerned.  On learning that Max had been severely beaten by his own brother, a dark magic user named Megawatt, Eledith transported him to Moonglade where she healed his wounds.

Healing Max.JPG

Maxinos has been beaten by his cruel brother for warning him away from Eledith and her sister.  On discovering that Eledith had healed Maxinos' wounds, Megawatt sought out the young druid, believing that her strong abilities in a field that he could never touch would be of some use to him.  Telling the impressionable Ele that by allowing Mega to oversee her training, she could better watch over Maxinos, Megawatt bound her soul to himself in a dark ritual.

soulstone.JPG

Well-meaning but naive, the young druid never realised that this would put her into the warlock's service.  Both Aly and Max have suspicions that something has happened, but neither of them has had confirmation yet.

 Personality:

Before the ritual that bound her to Megawatt, Eledith was a happy-go-lucky, care-free sort, always running around and laughing.  Since travelling to the Outland and battling the demons beside the other druids of the order she has calmed down, and then the ritual dampened her previously effervescent personality, leaving her quieter and more focused.

OOC Background:

Eledith was my first character created, but my second 70.  For a long time I was the only active druid healer in the guild and so I went along to a lot of Karazhan raids.  Now that we're getting some more geared up, I'm getting the opportunity to play my other characters in there, but Ele remains my best-geared and most common raiding character.

I adore being a restoration druid.  In fact, one of my favourite sources for restoration druid news and tips, Resto4Life was a big inspiration in starting my own blog.  Ele has one piece of Season 3 gear from the arena matches I've taken part in, both in 3- and 2- man groups.  She's hopefully going to get her second piece tomorrow.  She also has the Season 1 headpiece.  Her gloves and chestpiece are both Tier 4.

Love is in the Air, deee deee dee deee dee!

|

The Valentine's festival is always fun.  I love running around and seeing all the guards with hearts above their heads and helping people mend their broken hearts.  So far I've done the questline ( See here for guides) on Yolana and Eledith, along with two of my best WoW buddies.

View image

The new items are pretty nice.  I was lucky enough to get the picnic basket on my first gift for Eledith, and Yolana got the old Kwee permenant pet that I was looking for last year.  The picnic basket puts out a parasol and a basket and if you click it, it sits you down with a "looking for love" debuff, and then other people can come along and join you.  It makes you do random emotes like laughing and blowing a kiss.

I also went into Scholomance on Yolana and Eledith with friends and got myself the offhand item that you can keep.  It acts like the handful of petals, but has a five minute cooldown.  It was pretty amusing to see a zombie with a bunch of flowers.

And of course, where else am I going to get pictures like this one?
