Content no longer king?

My good friend Kyrah, AKA Codemuffin(I can smell them baking all the way over here!) has posted a few thoughts to her blog that resulted form a conversation we had in IRC. The rant was over web design. I said that a lot of those who laugh at web designer's, saying it is far too easy to be a job either use Dreamweaver, Front Page, and/or Flash, and therefore their time is spent making a lot of flash, and a lot of bang, but very little actual useful information. Ky and I both joined the net and became addicted to it when content was the only thing we had. No flash, no Shockwave, and certainly no plugins to make things work well. I joined when Netscape was still good, meaning before AOL, and I miss those days. That is why my site has so little flash, and is pretty plain.
