Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Turkey. Mash potatoes. Gravy. I really do love holidays. You don't eat like this on any day of the year other then Thanksgiving and Christmas. My mother still makes the best gravy I have ever tasted, and I still love Potatoes way too much for my own good. I kinda wish it had been the whole family, but it seens like I am almost the only one who is getting along with my parents these days.

Mmmmmmm, yummy

Wow. It is amazing what you can make when you are in a jam and have little ingredients. For $11.21 I just bought a block of mozzarella cheese, which will make three more of what I just had for dinner, pizza sauce, with which I made the pizza, a 4 liter thing of chocolate ice cream and a thing of butterscotch topping. That is an incredible purchase, the items within which will last me several nights, assuming the cheese stays good.

So, my dinner. I had an idea while at the corner store to put together a large flour tortilla shell or two together with pizza sauce in the middle and on top, then a little cheese, some ham bits, and more cheese for a semblance of Pizza. It tasted great, but there is only one slight problem. the center was cold. I think leaving it in a little longer or putting less topping near the middle might be a good plan, but overall it went exceptionally well.

Now, for dessert. I plan to make a little sundae with some of the chocolate ice cream I bought, and the butterscotch topping, as well as some of the chocolate sauce I already had. I must say, for a night when all I was expecting to have was Pizza Pops or warmed up Spaghetti, this has been a great night food wise.

Home grown tomatoes

Mmmmmmmmmm. My mother informed me last night that she has planted the tomato plants, which means that in a short few weeks, 5 to 7 I expect, I will have fresh home grown tomatoes. The only worry I have is that a flower plant my mother got for her birthday around the end of April is dying on her balcony, which is the same place her tomatoes are. That worries me because Tomatoes are very demanding, and I am told that the amount of light her balcony gets is generally minimal. I hope that is wrong.

My thoughts on the new Vanilla Coke

I have heard a lot lately about the new vanilla coke, but had not seen it anywhere in Winnipeg here. Then, seemingly all of a sudden, the Macs convenience store a block away got it and I decided to splurge $1.60 and pick it up. Boy, was that an uninteresting way to spend my money. The taste was, in all meaning of the word, unique. I have heard it described as a sort of cream soda taste, but that is too flattering. It tasted flat form the money of the first sip, to the last some 5 hours later.

It was so unremarkable that I continually forgot it was there. While it had taste to it, it was so bland and boring that I was thoroughly uninterested in finishing it. I never could tell if it had a vanilla taste to it, though it didn't smell nor look like it. It looked like Coke and smelt burnt. This may have been a bad batch or something to that affect, but either way it was thoroughly disappointing. Not on this earth would I spend my money on this crap again. Cherry Coke, if they were to bring it back here, I might, but not this stuff.

I never would have thought

I have become a fan of Harry Potter, as I have mentioned several times. I am also a fan of junk food, as my mother and many friends would tell you if my large waist line didn't give you the hint. More due to the latter than the former, when hitting The Forks today, I stopped by a store called Sugar Mountain, located in one of the two train cars on display in the front of The Forks Market. I walked in the door and spotted a lot of the old treats I liked, and I also noticed their somewhat... exorbitant prices. There was stuff there that I could still get in the store, but the prices in most stores would be a lot less costly. Then, as I was just about to leave, I saw a familiar logo. Harry Potter. I walked over to see what the item was, and it was, literally, Bertie Bott's Every Flavoured Beans. I actually bought two. I will not eat vomit, dirt, nor sardines, and no ear wax.
